Buriram Utd take Jonsson on board

Buiram United, Thai League champions, recently signed forward Rasmus Jonsson to replace Filipino Javer Patino in an announcement yesterday.

Buriram have sent misfiring forward Patino on loan to fellow club Ratchaburi until the end of the season.

Josson, 29, was revealed to be the debutant by chairman Newin Chidchob yesterday.

The forward once played in national shirt twice in 2011 now joined the Thunder Castle from Helsingborgs with an secret fee.

Earlier, he served some clubs namely Germany side Wolfsburg and FSV Frankfurt as well as Denmark's Aalborg.

Patino played for Buiram in 2018 yet not Influence made in his second stint with the defending Thai League champions.

Patino had 11 caps in Thai League, scoring 4 goals last season, by contrast, he is rarely used by coach  Bozidar Bandovic this season.

The Spanish-born striker helped Buriram clinch the Thai League title in 2013 and 2014 as well as Thai FA Cup and League Cup crowns in 2013 during his first spell with the club before moving to China side Henan Jianye in 2005.

Buriram also released Brazillian striker Pedro Junoir due to his unimpressive performance and signed Arsenal’s former player Nacer Barazite to replace.

Despite the 1-0 loss to Chonburi last weekend, Burriram still top the table.

The Thunder Castle earned 32 points after 16 matches, followed by True Bangkok United, Samut Prakan and Chiangrai United who all have 29.
