According to Thai media, Shanghai SPIG, a top football club of the Chinese Super League, is eyeing Thailand midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin.

The Matichon newspaper wrote Shanghai SPIG is planning to pay around $2.1 million to convince the boss of Consadole Saporro club to release his man.

Chanathip played brilliantly for Consadole Saporro, a J-League club, and has become a favorite of coach Mihaili Petrovic.

Chanathip to join Shanghai SPIG, playing alongside Chelsea's former player Oscar?

Chanathip played 25 matches, scored 4 goals and had 7 assists in J-League 2019. He also contributed to the team’s runner-up success at the Levain Cup 2019.

If the 26-year-old moves to China, it will be a new milestone in his career, playing in the top league in Asia.

Chanathip might have a chance to play beside world-class players like Oscar, Hulk, and Marko Arnautovic.

It is rumored that Chanathip will be paid $66,000 per month if the midfielder signs the contract.

Chanathip is now training with the Thailand national team for a World Cup  2022 qualifier against Malaysia at Bukit Jalil tonight at 7:45PM.
