Vietnam forward Cong Phuong had his first official match in Jupilar Pro League 2019-2020 yet his team was defeated heavily 6-0 to Club Brugge.

On August 3, Sint-Truidense was set to march to Club Brugge, which was expected to be difficult for Sint-Truidense. In this match, Cong Phuong was in the selection of coach Brys.

As prediction, facing the second most traditional Belgium club who is holding 15 times championship in the national cup, Sint-Truidense put a lot of effort without success.

In the first half, Marc Brys conceded 4 goals after a brace from Dvid Okereke’s, Hans Vanaken and Percy Tau’s.

In the second half, Marc’s side changed his men continuously with Yohan Boli and  Wataru Endo replacing Nelson Balongo and Stan Van Dessel. However, Sint-Truidense could not still put much pressure on Club Brugge.

By the 70th minute, Vietnamese striker Nguyen Cong Phuong came out the pitch, replacing Alexandre De Bruyn in the hope of finding an honor goal. However, the visitors continue to score the fifth and sixth goals from Emmanuel Dennis and Siebe Schrijvers at 72nd minutes and 83rd minutes.

In the few remaining minutes, Nguyen Cong Phuong and his teammates could not find the honor goal and lost 0-6.
