Asian Football Federation (AFC) has announced the draw result on its homepage for AFC U16 Championship qualifying round 2020.
The result is considered to be relatively favorable for U16 Vietnam since the remaining competitors are not highly rated, except for U16 Australia.
AFC U16 championship 2020 qualifier will be divided into two regions: East Asia and West Asia. In East Asia, Vietnam, along with Indonesia, Singapore, Laos and Myanmar, are host countries and have their home advantage.
AFC U16 championship qualifiers this year will have 11 matches (more than 1 group compared to the previous tournaments), in which East Asia has 5 groups and West Asia region has 6 groups. The 11 teams that rank first in each group along with the 4 second ranked teams (excluding homeowners) will win tickets to the final of AFC U16 2020 being kicked off in Singapore.
