Indonesian media collated the dismissal of Team Indonesia’s head coach Simon McMenemy with the contract renewal of Team Vietnam head coach Park Hang-seo on November 5.

On October 15, the fourth matchday of World Cup 2022 qualifiers, Vietnam defeated Indonesia 3-1 in Bali. The result has greatly influenced the future of McMenemy.

The Bola Sport wrote: “Contradictory situations occur in the coaching positions of  Indonesian national team and the Vietnam national team: Simon McMenemy and Park Hang-seo.

Park and VFF have reached an agreement with a salary of around $ 50,000. Simon McMenemy, however, is fired by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI). This decision was made at the new PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) management meeting in Jakarta.

PSSI President said, "The rejection of McMenemy was the most important decision at the EXCO meeting on November 5. We are looking for a good coach to replace him."

McMenemy will be in charge of the Indonesian team in the away game against Malaysia on November 19 before handing over the job to the new coach.

Park Hang-seo and VFF have just reached an agreement on a new contract that will expire after three years. The South Korean strategist will receive a salary of $ 45,000 - $ 50,000 per month.

Park is tasked with accomplishing several goals, including helping Vietnam be in the top 10 of the Asian U23,  win a ticket for Olympic Tokyo 2020, reach the finals of SEA Games 30, defend the AFF Cup 2020 and 2022 championships and become one of 12 most excellent teams in Asia at World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
