Akira Nishino frankly said that there are not many Thai players having good quality and professional style.

FAT and Akira Nishino had a discussion on July 25 to prepare for the Thailand national team, especially the opening match against Vietnam NT.

After the discussion, FAT vice chairman Pasanat Supaphong share with the Siam Sports that: “Mr. Nishino informed that he would only scout players’ training and playing in their clubs in this time. At the beginning of  August, he will call up 30 players first, the others will be summoned later.”

“We must notify clubs the summon list 15 days as usual, however, Nishino denied and follow FIFA and J-League regulation, they are forced to release their players on FIFA day without early notification."

Akira Nishino worries about Thai players quality.

In the 30-man list, Mr. Akira pointed out Japan-based star trio Chanathip Songkrasin (Consadole Sapporo), Theerathon Bunmathan (Yokohama), Thitipan Puangjan (Oita Trinita). Coach Akira Nishino will consider these three key factors to build the Thai team.

The Japanese strategist also expressed dissatisfaction with the quality and attitude of Thai players, when there were too few players with professional quality. He expressed his desire to bring players abroad to practice to improve professional style and be ready for big matches.

During this meeting, parties agreed to move Thai League round 25 back (taking place on August 21) to October 2. Meanwhile, matches in the 26th round (August 24.25) are still kept. Thus, although coach Akira Nishino still only has 10 days to join the army, but the Thai players will have more rest time to prepare the best before entering the battle with Vietnam.
