UAE Football Federation claims to pull off easy wins over ASEAN teams

Mr. Bin Galita - Chairman of UAE Football Federation - proved extremely confident when talking about the opportunities of this country in Group G World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

In the 2022 World Cup Asia qualifiers, Group G promises to bring many interesting confrontations with four Southeast Asian teams, namely Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The last name in this group is from West Asia: UAE.

As the team in the No. 1 seed group, it is easy to understand when the UAE is the most highly rated in Group G. In FIFA Rankings, the UAE gets the highest ranking 67th. Obviously, compared to the other competitors in the group, the UAE’s level and experience are still better. They are the top candidate for group winner and the ticket to go on.

The chairman of the UAE Football Federation (UAE FA), Mr. Bin Galita also expressed great confidence about the chances in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Sharing with Gulf News, he said: "UAE is highly appreciated in any tournament it attends, I believe we are the top team in Asia and it will not be difficult to overcome this second qualifier. We possess potential players and are ready to do something special. We have shown this in the 2019 Asian Cup and I believe we will continue to creates that impression in the World Cup qualifiers 2022".

Mr. Bin Galita added: "Moreover, we have a world-class coach who knows how to combine youth spirit and experience. I believe that Bert van Markwijk will help UAE players  facilitate their own strengths".

Currently, the UAE is on a training campaign in Salzburg (Austria), which is scheduled to end on July 22. The UAE troop’s opening match in the second qualifying round will be a trip to Malaysia's stadium on October 9.
