Defender Van Hau will return to Vietnam right after Sunday’s match between SC Heerenveen and Zwollen to prepare for the Vietnam-Malaysia World Cup 2022 qualifier on Thursday.
Striker Cong Phuong who play for Belgian club Sint-Truidense will also likely join Vietnam’s national team at the same time. Muang Thong goalie Dang Van Lam flied back on Wednesday.
Van Hau was named in coach Jansen’s roster in the last 2 matches but did not play. The 20-year-old player was capped twice in the Reserve League.
Heerenveen now rank 11th in the Netherlands’ top-tier league.
They will take on Zwollen at 1:45am on Oct 6 (Hanoi time).
