Thailand and Philipines are the team in No.1 group seed. No.2 group have presences of Indonesia and Malaysia. Myanmar and Singapore downs into No.3 one.
AFF based on the team’s achievements in SEA Games 2017 to classify groups. Thailand back then was the champion, Malaysia was the runner-up, Indonesia ranked 3th and the 4th position belonged to Myanmar. Vietnam team could not qualify for the Qualification.
However, after a resent series of stellar games, U22 Vietnam is still estimated as a bright candidate for the champion.
Some of players such as Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, Tran Dinh Trong, Ho Tan Tai, Ha Duc Chinh will present in the U22 Vietnam’s line-up with few of U23 footballers namely Nguyen Hoang Duc anfd Trieu Viet Hung.
By the new format of SEA Games 30, Coach Park possibly makes a call for Cong Phuong, Van Lam, Phan Van Duc, Duc Huy, Que Ngoc Hai or Hung Dung to gather in the national team.
