Receiving an invitation from Hong Kong Football Association, U18 Vietnam, led by Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, is due to join U18 Jockey Club Championship in Hong Kong. The other competitors are Singapore, Myanmar, and Hong Kong.

U18 Vietnam will face U18 Singapore at the starting match, according to organizers. In the second round, Hoang Anh Tuan’s side will encounter U18 Myanmar and then U18 Hong Kong in the last game.

Preparing for the tournament, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan called out 23 footballers for U18 Vietnam team wherein HAGL put 4 players who were Nguyen Thanh Khoi, Nguyen Nhi Khang, Phan Du Hoc, and Nguyen Nhat Minh on the list. Also, PVF sent out Tran Lam Hao, Vo Nguyen Hoang, Hung Cong Den, and Tran Hoang Phuc, along with an attacker Van Son from Quang Ninh club. These players are expected to participate in SEA Games 21 in Ha Noi. As reported by Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, U19 Vietnam is arranged to train in Croatia to prepare for Asia Championship U18 and AFC U-19 Championship occurring at the end of this year.

In the U18 Asian Championship 2019, Vietnam is drawn into Group K with Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Campuchia. Group A has attendances of Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Laos, and Timor-Leste.
